You’ve done it! You worked hard, saved up, scoured the internet for deals and now, you have finally built your perfect mancave. 80″ TV and all.

But now the question remains; what in the world are you going to watch on that behemoth of an LCD screen?

Glad you asked!

The 7 Greatest TV Shows for Men

1. Game of Thrones

game-of-thrones

Admittedly, I am just at the end of the first season, but Game of Thrones is by far one of the greatest TV shows I have ever seen. Filled with violent action, political intrigue and copious amounts of sex (we know you’re disappointed)

Game of Thrones beautifully combines the action of gladiator with the political power of House of Cards and sexual excess of Californication in a heart breaking, edge of your seat thriller you won’t want to miss.

2. Breaking Bad

At this point, if you haven’t already finished Breaking Bad, then what in the world have you been doing with your life?? (Accomplishing real goals instead of watching TV or something?! Madness!)

AMC’s hit series is possibly one of the most emotional roller coaster rides you will ever take that follows the story of a humble and hard working chemistry teacher who gets involved in cooking Meth to leave money for his family after he is diagnosed with terminal cancer.

This is a heart wrenching tale full of character and a masterfully written story that you leave you speechless and teary eyed.

3. House of Cards

Ok, we will be the first to admit it, Frank Underwood is the literal last person you would look to for a character role model, but he is the epitome of the masculine badass. This political thriller is set in Modern times in Washington D.C. (and according to Bill Clinton, scary accurate)

This gritty and surprisingly provocative show might have you considering seceding to a small island off the coast of god-knows-where, but at the very least it will provide some epic entertainment that will leave you wondering just how crazy politics can actually be.

4. Vikings

vikings

By far one of the most traditionally masculine and heroic shows on this list; Vikings tells the story of Ragnar Lothbrok, a lowly farmer with ambitions beyond the yearly harvest.

In addition to some incredibly badass action and plot twists, Vikings provides us with a fantastic role model for what it means to persevere, lead, and fight for your family and your dreams.

Just don’t go smashing anyone’s head in with a hammer please

5. The Walking Dead

Probably the most diverse, and most watched show on the list, The Walking Dead is filled with more epic action, over the top zombie slaying, mind boggling character progression, and plot twist filled storytelling than our mortal brains know what to do with.

Not only does this show satisfy all of you gore hounds out there (just get to episode 2 and you will be cringing for days) but any of you looking for an epic story will be left wanting more each week.

Just start watching it, you’ll be glad you did.

6.Hell on Wheels

Yet another AMC show (no we aren’t sponsored by them) that makes our list, Hell on Wheels is what would have happened if the game Red Dead Redemption had sex with Django Unchained, that is to say, pure cowboy awesomeness.

Hell on Wheels tells a story of vengeance, justice, and redemption filled with all the gritty wild west action, sexual trysts, and cowboy storytelling you would expect.

7. Sherlock

While Sherlock certainly lacks the suave Casanova esque social skills that you see modeled by James Bond or other characters, Sherlock offers an excellent way to relax and unwind while still stimulating your brain.

Sherlock is a short series with each episode running almost 90 minutes of epicness. Every episode is intense and on point and will keep you guessing until the very end where you will always sit back, look at your girlfriend and bullcrap her saying “I knew it was him the whole time”
